New and refurbished Philips HeartStart AEDs

CMR CPR sells Philips HeartStart automated external defibrillators (AEDs), some of the most widely used AEDs in offices, schools, churches and public spaces. Choose a brand-new unit with the full manufacturer warranty, or save with a professionally refurbished AED. Either way, you work with a local Doylestown team led by a retired paramedic who will help you pick the right device, get it in place and train your people to use it.

Pricing depends on the model, condition and package you choose. Tell us about your space and we’ll send a quote. Want ballpark numbers first? Read our AED cost guide.

New AEDs

Philips HeartStart OnSite AED

Designed for first-time responders in workplaces, churches, schools and community spaces. Pull the green handle and the OnSite talks you through every step with clear voice instructions, including CPR coaching. It runs automatic self-tests so you know it’s ready.

  • Voice-guided and easy for lightly trained rescuers

  • Pads cartridge pre-installed for fast setup

  • Infant/child pads available

  • Automatic daily, weekly and monthly self-tests

Philips HeartStart FRx AED

A rugged AED built for tougher settings: gyms, athletic fields, security teams and vehicles. The FRx is rated IP55 for dust and water resistance and uses SMART Pads II that work for adults and, with the Infant/Child Key, for children.

  • Rugged, dust- and water-resistant design

  • One set of pads for adults and children (with the Infant/Child Key)

  • Clear voice prompts and CPR guidance

  • Automatic self-tests

Philips’ emergency care business became Heartstream in January 2026 and continues to manufacture and market Philips-branded HeartStart AEDs.

Refurbished AEDs

A refurbished (recertified) AED can cost hundreds of dollars less than a new unit and is a smart choice when the budget is tight but you still need a rescue-ready device. A quality refurbished AED should:

  • Be an FDA-approved model that is still supported, with pads and batteries readily available

  • Pass full functional and electrical testing

  • Ship with new, in-date pads and a new battery

  • Come with a written warranty

We’ll steer you toward refurbished models you can keep in service for years. Ask us about current refurbished inventory and warranty terms.

Pads, batteries and accessories

Already own a Philips HeartStart? We supply replacement adult and infant/child pads and long-life batteries so your AED stays ready. Pads typically need replacing about every two years and batteries about every four, and pads must be replaced after any use. Learn more in how often you need to replace an AED.

AED + CPR training packages

Pennsylvania’s Good Samaritan AED law (42 Pa.C.S. § 8331.2) expects organizations that own an AED to make sure expected users are trained to American Heart Association, American Red Cross or other national standards. CMR CPR is an AHA Training Site, and our instructors come to you. Bundle your AED with on-site CPR/AED certification for groups of 10 or more.

AED program management

An AED only helps if it works when it’s needed. Our program management keeps you covered:

  • Scheduled readiness inspections

  • Pad and battery expiration tracking with replacement reminders

  • Recordkeeping for your AED program

  • Support after an AED is used, including replacement pads and getting back in service

Why buy your AED from CMR CPR?

  • Paramedic-led. Owner Rodney Millspaugh is a retired NREMT paramedic who has relied on AEDs in the field.

  • One partner for the device, training and upkeep. No juggling an online store, a training company and a maintenance vendor.

  • Local to Doylestown. Serving Bucks County and the surrounding southeastern Pennsylvania area.

  • Honest guidance. New or refurbished, we recommend what fits your space and budget.

AED buying FAQs

Do I need a prescription to buy an AED?

Most AEDs sold in the U.S., including the HeartStart OnSite and FRx, are prescription devices under FDA rules. We’ll explain how that works when you order.

How much does an AED cost?

New Philips HeartStart AEDs generally run about $1,600 to $2,500, and refurbished units often cost under half that. See the full AED cost guide.

How long does an AED last?

Most AEDs stay in service about 8 to 10 years. New Philips HeartStart OnSite and FRx AEDs come with an 8-year manufacturer warranty.

Is a refurbished AED safe?

Yes, when it’s a supported, FDA-approved model that has been tested, fitted with new pads and a new battery, and backed by a written warranty.

Will my staff know how to use it?

AEDs are built for bystanders and talk you through each step. Read how to use an AED, then let us train your team hands-on.
